What's the difference between filler and Sculptra? RHA filler adds immediate, precise volume using hyaluronic acid — you see the result right away and it lasts 12–18 months. Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator — it doesn't add volume directly but triggers your body to produce new collagen, with results building gradually over 3–6 months and lasting 2+ years. Many patients benefit from both: filler for precise corrections and Sculptra for overall facial restoration and long-term collagen building.
Should I get filler or Botox first? The ideal combination and sequence depends on what you're trying to address. Botox relaxes muscles that create dynamic lines; filler restores volume and corrects structural concerns. Many patients benefit from both — and when done together they create a more comprehensive result than either alone. At your consultation we'll map out what your face actually needs and in what order, rather than giving you a standard protocol that may not fit your situation.
Does filler hurt? We apply topical numbing cream before treatment, and RHA fillers contain lidocaine in the formula itself — so discomfort decreases as the treatment proceeds. Most patients rate the experience as mild to moderate discomfort. The lip area tends to be most sensitive; other areas are typically quite comfortable. Most patients tell us it was much less uncomfortable than they anticipated.
Can filler be dissolved if I don't like the result? Can filler be dissolved if I don't like the result? + Yes — this is one of the significant advantages of hyaluronic acid filler. An enzyme called hyaluronidase can dissolve RHA quickly and safely if you're unhappy with any aspect of your result. This reversibility is a meaningful safety feature that non-HA fillers don't have.
